Introduction to Fishmongering is a fantastic new training resource that is delivered as a one day training course. It provides new entrants or those with no previous formal training an opportunity to get an overview of the key skills required as a fishmonger. The day is motivational and concentrates on the most significant areas of the job, with high impact and focused modules that are outlined below.
6.15am - 3.15pm approx. The school opens at 6.00am for registration at 6.15am. Don't forget that traffic is usually much lighter at this time of day. What to Expect
This day includes a Market visit and both classroom and knife skills room based sessions. To accompany the course a training manual is providing including: General Guide, An Overview of the Seafood Industry, Quality Assessment, Care of Product, Hygiene and Food Safety, Care of Tools, Knife Skills, Cleaning, Display, Customer Service, Answers to Exercises, Further Training.

What you take home
You have the chance to do some hands on fish preparation during the course of flat and round fish. The fish you have worked on are yours to take home and enjoy!
Can I buy Fish
You can definitely buy fish during the Market visit and although we have limited freezer space we have a good fish chill to look after your fish during the course.
