Fishmongers' Company

The Company has intrinsic links with the fish industry dating back over 700 years. During this period, it has been and still is actively involved in establishing and maintaining industry standards and in educational work. They have supported the school tremendously since it was established. The Company's Fisheries Inspectorate, based at the market, help deliver many of our early morning market visits. The Company also supports the school through various donations including the support of the City & Guilds Seafood Profile of Achievement  that is delivered yearly. The head chef at Fishmongers' Hall, Stephen Pini, is very well  respected and the Company support a handful of courses each year at the Hall.

City of London Corporation

The Corporation is keen to see the School to continue to develop at Billingsgate Market as an educational resource for the industry and to keep the Market at the forefront of the industry.

Sea Fish Industry Authority  (Seafish)
This is a leading body for the development of operational standards, vocational qualifications and training for the sea fish industry. Seafish support several area's of activity at the school including our Outreach Project for Schools and many Sustain and Responsible Sourcing Events and training at the school

Billingsgate Merchants and The London Fish Merchants Association

There are over 50 merchants based at the market. The benefits of establishing the School at the Market are obvious - it has created a means of publicising the Market and the fish industry.

As a charity we raise many of our funds through the delivery of our food lovers courses and corporate team building events.

We have been supported by funding from many groups since the school opened. Funding from the Sir John Cass Foundation, Aldgate and Allhallows Barking Exhibition Foundation, HSBC and Barclays are just a few who have sponsored events.

Currently we have funding available from:

European Fisheries Fund. We have successfully bid to support a variety of projects through the European Fisheries Fund. These finances helped us refurbish our cutting room facilities, and today support the costs of our new website and DVD to take out to schools along with our Extended Education Programme.

The school couldn't operate without funding support.
